Taking the First Step

Entering high school, my mind was trained for words such as genius or inspirational to be thrown around without meaning. My eighth grade teacher was one that lifted spirits more then he dragged that red pen, therefore my freshman year was a huge step for me into the right direction.

I started out my freshman year with stories that I drew from my own experiences. As the year went on I began to experiment with different ideas. These ideas expanded throughout my sophomore, junior, and senior years. Every year, I began to strengthen my writing by using techniques such as point of view, word choice, setting description, metaphors, and foreshadowing.

Writing is an art, at which the answer may never be found.
